FAQ

Below are questions which regularly pop up on e-mails or during wedding meetings. If you have any questions please use my contact form or call me on 07834-809019.

How do we book?

I require a booking fee of £250 and a signed booking form. Payment can be accepted on-line or via a direct bank transfer.

Are you insured?

Yes I have third party insurance as well as professional indemnity insurance. My policy is with Windsover Howden and I have had no claims to date.

Do you have back up equipment?

Of course – I have everything in triplicate. Hence if the back up equipment fails – I have another back up. For wet weddings or winter weddings I have indoor lighting equipment. Other useful  equipment are my big white wedding umbrellas – in Scotland these get a lot of use and appear regularly in my galleries and blog!

Do you use assistants?

I have only ever used an assistant once with off camera lighting – as the wedding was underground in a cave and only lit by candles. I prefer to work alone as it is less intrusive for both the officiant and guests

What do you wear?

As I carry several cameras on me at all times and sometimes a black ruc-sac full of spare equipment a suit and tie is impractical. At weddings I normally wear smart trousers, black dress shoes and a black shirt. For summer weddings I may wear a plain white shirt so I do not melt – this is rare in Scotland though!

What’s your style?

My style is to set nothing up and cover your wedding in a documentary style. I do of course take those important family formals for which I recommend a maximum of 8 formals and direct some bride and groom photographs. In each case I try and limit the formals and bride and groom session to 30 minutes each. This allows you to spend time with your guests.

How many photographs do we get?

It varies depending on many factors such as size of wedding, weather, co-operation of guests, how wild the reception party is and of course how long I am booked for. Typical numbers are 150 – 250 for 4 hours coverage and 300-500 for 8 hours coverage. To view a large selection of full weddings please go to my on-line store and click on galleries without a padlock symbol (These have no password)

Do you require a meal at the reception?

No but if you offer one it is much appreciated. The only thing to note is I have a nut allergy – some past Clients would say that’s because I am nutty enough.
